University of Minnesota Physicians Dental Room Coordinator (Adult Dental Clinic) - 1.0 FTE in Minneapolis, Minnesota
As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. Our mission is three-fold: delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medicine through research, and training the next generation of health professionals.
Manages the sterilization procedures for all clinical instruments and treatment operatories. Conducts the required cleaning of all operatories and completes the room set up for the next procedure. Provides support to clinical team by escorting patients to identified operatories completes the necessary intake for patient. Provides support to clinical staff with use of the electronic health record, pouring up of models, and resident clinical support. Manages all logs for clinical sterilization area, monitors clinical supplies and informs identified team member of supply deficiencies insuring supply levels are held to minimum levels
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Operatory cleaning and set up
Sterilization of instruments/required logs
Manages supply levels informs identified staff of order status, including stocking in operatories
Manages laundry for clinical use and end of day procedures
Escorting patient before and after treatment
Monitor all logs for clinical area
Provide applicable care/service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served
To qualify for this role you must possess:
Knowledge of electronic medical/dental systems. Ability to perform effectively under stressful situations.
Knowledge of quality improvement and quality assurance activities in a clinic. Broad understanding of medical/dental records, and patient information.
Proven ability to learn job skills and provide patient services. Proven ability to work with EMR .
Strong computer skills
Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure. Broad understanding of regulatory and organizational policies. Required to work with chemicals and bio hazardous materials
Demonstrated ability to work as a team with administrative and clinical staff towards the best interest of the patients. Attention to detail and ability to interpret regulations.
Post HS training in business, healthcare or related field. Training in sterile processing. Experience with EMR
Completion of dental assistant degree program preferred. LDA license not required.
Preferably experience in a dental clinic with sterilization of instruments.
Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel.
