Hours:Tuesday- Friday 8 am to 5 pm

This position is full time located in Daytona BeachScheduled Hours: Tuesday- Friday 8 am to 5 pm QUALIFICATIONS: Education, skills, and experience: 1. High School graduate or equivalent.2. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Required.3. Dental office experience preferred.4. Related educational training a plus.5. Very good computer skills required.6. Ability to navigate and function in various computer systems and applications (Scheduling/Practice Management, Electronic Health Records (E.H.R.), Dentrix, billing) simultaneously required.7. Strong telephone and oral communication skills required.8. Experience in co-pay collection or cashier experience a plus.9. Competence in multi-tasking.10. Must be a team player with positive attitude.11. Must be flexible in meeting demands of all office operations.12. Clear English skills required.13. Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm required. JOB SUMMARY: A Dental Customer Service Specialist 1 is the "face" of the dental practice and will perform as a strong ambassador for the practice by performing all functions skillfully and maintaining a caring, professional image and appearance at all times while continuing to display excellent customer service. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients/visitors with a smile as soon as they arrive, schedule appointments to maximize schedule, answering incoming calls within four rings, taking messages, collecting co-pays and other payments, ensure patients are informed of their financial obligation at time of appointment, scanning medical documentation, identifying insurance coverage, working with patient referrals, end of day close and using the Electronic Health Record (E.H.R./Dentrix). Will be cross-trained to back up the Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator. Conduct patient re-care scheduling from Dentrix daily so patients are scheduled for pending treatment for which they do not have appointments for thus to keep patients on track with their care and maximize Dentist and Hygienist schedules. This individual will need to become proficient in all computer functions required for this position and maintain confidentiality at all times. All employees are to familiarize themselves with Florida Health Care Plans' policies and procedures. The Dental Customer Service Specialist 1 will have to have passed a Medical and Dental Terminology test and an E.H.R./Dentrix competency Level 1 and TouchWorks Practice Management (TWPM) competency given by the Education department within the first 90 days of employment. This person will work under the direction of the Dental Practice Manager who works in collaboration with the Dentists.
